We previously informed you about everything we knew about Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S10. There is also a second futuristic model coming up at Samsung's event which will be a foldable smartphone expected to make waves. We saw a glimpse of the foldable phone on stage at Samsung's Developer's Conference 2018 but not much was detailed about the phone. The foldable screen technology at that time was named as “Infinity Flex Display”.

Given below is what we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy X:

This foldable phone will have two displays. One having 4.5-inches display size and 840 by 1960 pixels resolution whereas when the phone is unfolded, we have a bigger 7.3-inches screen and 1536 by 2152 pixels resolution. Samsung accidentally uploaded a video about the Galaxy X and it has seen major improvement from last year, the previous concept has been completely revamped. You can see the teaser below:

A report published by CIMB research of Korea tells us that the Galaxy X will be powered by Exynos 9820 chipset in the international model and in the American model Snapdragon 855 will be used. Both of these are top of the line processors so we are expecting Samsung will be going all out to launch a near perfect foldable smartphone.

In regards to storage and RAM, it is rumored that the device will have base storage of 128GB with 8GB of RAM, but higher models will also be launched. The report suggests that the device will have two batteries and both of them will add up to give a total of almost 5000 to 6000 mAh capacity.

The same report says that the device will have a dual 12MP camera at the back and at the front, an 8MP selfie shooter. Although this is lacking if we go head to head with competitors as well as taking into account the expected price but that's all we are going to get if the rumors are true.

According to the same report, the manufacturing cost for that phone is $636 but Samsung has set the launch price at $1800. All of that difference is because Samsung has to take into account its other costs as well. It includes costs for marketing campaigns and most importantly the R&D budget. But still, the device is a lot expensive as compared to other flagship phones if this price is final.

Launch Date:

Samsung has expected to launch this phone on 20th February, 2 days from now. There is already one teaser of the event on its YouTube with the tagline “The Future Unfolds” which you can see below:
